When a rug is available as a sample, select the Sample option on the product page and place your order.
See it in your space
Compare the actual color and texture with your flooring, furniture, lighting, and décor before deciding.
Purchase your rug
Within 60 days of your sample purchase, order a 5' × 8' size class or larger rug from the same collection.
Get reimbursed
Once your qualifying rug order ships, contact us with both order numbers and we'll reimburse the amount paid for one qualifying sample.

How does the Buy Area Rugs sample reimbursement program work?
Order an eligible rug sample from Buy Area Rugs and try it in your home. If you purchase a qualifying 5' × 8' or larger rug from the same collection within 60 days of your sample purchase, we'll reimburse the amount you paid for one qualifying sample.
How long do I have to purchase the full-size rug?
Your qualifying full-size rug order must be placed within 60 calendar days of your original sample order date.
What rug sizes qualify for sample reimbursement?
Rugs in the 5' × 8' size class or larger qualify. Comparable manufacturer sizes, such as 5'3" × 7'6", also qualify. Runners, accent rugs, and smaller sizes are not eligible for sample reimbursement.
Does the rug have to be from the same collection as my sample?
Yes. The qualifying full-size rug must be from the same rug collection as the sample you purchased.
How much of my rug sample cost will be reimbursed?
We'll reimburse the amount you actually paid for one qualifying sample for each qualifying full-size rug purchased.
When will I receive my sample reimbursement?
Sample reimbursement is processed after your qualifying full-size rug order has shipped. This allows us to verify that the purchase meets the requirements of the program.
How do I request reimbursement for my rug sample?
After your qualifying rug has shipped, contact Buy Area Rugs and provide your sample order number and your full-size rug order number. We'll verify the purchase and process the eligible reimbursement.
Can I get reimbursed for more than one rug sample?
Each qualifying full-size rug purchase can reimburse the cost of one qualifying sample. If you order several samples but purchase only one qualifying full-size rug, one sample is eligible for reimbursement.
Do I need to return the rug sample to receive reimbursement?
No. You do not need to return the rug sample as part of the reimbursement process.
