What rug size do I need?

Measure the room before ordering. The rug should connect the furniture and leave a visible border of floor around the room.

Helpful rule: When you are between two sizes, the larger size usually gives the room a more balanced look.

Placement tips

Living room

Center the rug with the seating. At minimum, place the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug. Larger rooms usually look best when all furniture legs sit on the rug.

Dining room

Make sure chair legs remain on the rug when the chairs are pulled out. About 24 inches of rug beyond each side of the table is a useful target.

Bedroom

The rug should extend beyond the sides and foot of the bed. Place the rug under the lower two-thirds of the bed when it does not fit beneath the entire bed.

Runners

Leave a few inches of visible floor on both sides. Center the runner in the hallway or open walking path.

Round rugs

Round rugs work especially well under round tables and in square entry areas. Choose a diameter large enough to hold the furniture, not just the table top.

Measure before ordering

  1. Measure the exact length and width of the area.
  2. Use painter's tape to mark the rug outline on the floor.
  3. Check that doors, floor vents, and walking paths remain clear.
  4. View the taped outline from the room entrance before choosing.

Size

Castilla is a blend of shrink polyester and polypropylene, machine-made in Turkey. It's tightly packed fibers with a captivating shimmering sheen create for both density in touch and shine in appearance. The soft colors make these rugs the perfect complement to neutral settings. The sheen across the surface gives the designs and colors different appearances depending on the angle upon which the rug is looked at.

Care information
  • Vacuum rug as needed using only a brushless attachment without using a beater bar.
  • Loose ends are not defects. Trim with scissors and do not pull.
  • Remove liquid spills immediately using an absorbent cloth. Blot and do not rub.
  • Shedding is normal for many area rugs for the first 2-4 weeks.
  • Initial new rug scents are common for 2-3 weeks after delivery. Air rug in open area to decrease time needed to dissipate.
  • Rug pads are recommended to prevent slippage on hard surfaces and to increase life of rug.
  • Avoid direct sunlight for indoor rugs if possible.
  • Rug protectors are recommended for heavy furniture.
  • Re-position rugs once per year to minimize excessive wear.
